about the band

The Housecats have had a great year.  From rocking the boats on the Erie Canal at Tonawanda's
Canal Fest, to bending the airwaves on WBFO's Buffalo Music Project: Live In Allen Hall, all the
honky-tonks and rock clubs in between, and getting about halfway finished with their first
recording, we count ourselves lucky to simply be having fun and making what we think is great
music together.  As if we weren't thrilled enough, all of you wonderful folks have been right
there with us hooting and hollering and tapping along to our sound.  Thanks for your support,
here's to an equally outstanding 2008!  Now to the business part...

From Tom Waits's "Alice", to Patty Griffin's "Flaming Red", to the other end of the spectrum with
punchy alt-folk originals, western New York's Dee & The Housecats blend blues, americana, and
rock into a crunchy morsel of a good time.  The combination of award winning songwriter and
Buffalo Music Award winner (05)
Dee Adams on
vocals and acoustic guitar,  Charlie Gannon on
electric guitar, Dave Kimball on electric guitar,
Mike Tinsmon on bass, and Nick Runfola on drums,
makes this band one of Buffalo's most original and
enjoyable outfits.

Dee's vocals float between sultry blues, earthy
folk, and screaming rock, while the band paints
the setting of each song with electric guitar layers,
innovative bass, and a textured palette of drums.
Dee & The Housecats move effortlessly around
their songs and shape them into their own unique
inventions of rock and roll.  Their debut album,
Widow, will be released in 2008, and new songs
keep finding their way to the surface.  You can get
